Merry New Year!

Some belated photos from Christmas morning and New Year's. (Thanks Gretchen for the title!!!)
Evan had a blast opening gifts, and every morning since Christmas he has come into our room to say Merry Christmas. Luckily, it ended the day after we took down the tree (New Year's Eve).

A funny thing happened on our way home from Christmas Eve service. Evan was mesmerized by the songs and live nativity (Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus--no animals). Once in the car, Evan asked where God was. We responded, in your heart and everywhere you go. He replied, "oh, I want McDonald's" ... we laughed hysterically.

Marissa and her friend babysat Evan on New Year's Eve and we enjoyed a night out with friends. Out of our friends, Evan is the youngest (by a year) and the only boy. So often he gets excluded or picked on. Not to say he doesn't aggravate the girls, and definitely shows his territory with toys. We just wanted to give ourselves a break without tempertantrums! He had a great time with all the attention from Sissa & Jayden. We made a Happy New Year hat to celebrate and I bought the kids horns/blowers as well as sparkling WHITE grapejuice. The girls took pictures of Evan celebrating!!

Happy 2010!!

Some other random notes about Evan:

The other night at dinner, Alex prepared Chicken Divan (broccoli, chicken, cheese casserole). Evan didn't touch it and we told him to take two bites and then he could have something else. So he did. He wanted cereal. I poured him a bowl of cereal, and then he says "Mommy, I don't like cereal, I want something else." Needless to say, he didn't get anything else. But then the next morning he tried it on me with his favorite french toast. He loves french toast (eggo brand). Little stinker. (note: Emery didn't like it either...sorry Alex..I like it...but not when it keeps someone up all night with tummy ache!)

He got the Zippity for Christmas and he was playing it the other night while Alex was cooking, and I tending to Emery. I came out and found little pieces of foam on the floor. I asked him what happened and he said he was hungry...he chewed off part of the "bopper". I was so sad that it didn't last even a week and then he got soooo sad and kept apologizing through out dinner. It was cute and hard not to forgive that cute little face!

Evan argues with Alex on whose baby Emery is.

He's the first to tell us that Emery is hungry when she starts crying.

We all have our tv shows. Evan is eager to watch "HIS SHOW", if ours go to commercial break..he says..."see Mommy/Daddy your show over...time for my show!!"

I love the mornings or even middle of the nights (b/c they are random) when he comes in to our room and says "I want to snuggle". My favorite thing ever!!! until he asks to watch HIS show!

I love when he starts talking/telling a story about something and I asked him what he's talking about...most of the time it's a pretend phone conversation ...with Daddy, Jill (our neighbor) or one of the grandparents.

I thought the game "Candy Land" would be great for us to play...it is...for about 5 minutes.

When he asks, "Mommy, what time the clock say?" (time to go to bed....no, time to watch my show!)

For about a week, before bathtime, Evan walks around naked and silly --afraid that the cats are going to get his butt.

He called Alex and I--two silly gooses in response to being told to stop jumping on the bed.

When he finally gives in, he looks down, pouts and says "O-tay".

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE! WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO A WONDERFUL YEAR OF NEW MEMORIES WITH OUR TWO BEAUTIFUL BABIES & OUR FRIENDS & FAMILY!

Cute pictures -- it looks like Santa was very good to both kids :) Love the "show" story. Maddie did the same way. I tried to find ways to limit the tv but when you have another one to take care of you need to keep them busy or they will get it to crazy stuff. It does get easier when they get older! :)
