Updates!

I didn't realize Evan was certified in infant CPR?!
Actually, Emery was telling him she loved him and he's kissing her!

Not a happy face! Must have been the hat?

So, I can't believe Emery is approaching 7 weeks on Monday! Where has the time gone? I had thought this would be a perfect time to have a baby during the holiday season and Minnesota winter, but time sure is going fast!

I recently had one of those "bad mom" moments and it confirmed the need for some reorganization or "organization" of my life. My mom had just left and Alex's parents were arriving, Thanksgiving, and Emery had her 4 week check up all in the same week. I arrived with a few minutes to spare at the doctor's office---our new doctor who made an exception to accept us! They had no record of our appointment for Tuesday--in fact, it was Monday. I knew you lose brain cells, but come on!

So we went back the following week for her appointment. At 5 weeks, she weighed 9 lbs 7 oz and 21.2 inches! She's in the 50th percentile for height & weight. We had a crazy start to her life and routine just didn't seem to be in our vocabulary. So, now at nearly 7weeks we are getting there. She is sleeping great at night. Most nights she goes down around 10:30 to 11 and will sleep until 5:45 am! The last week and a half have been hit or miss with a colic spell occuring between 8pm & 11pm. Her eating habits are a bit sporadic which I blame for causing my mastitis last weekend. She'll sleep at night, but eats what seemed like every 2 hours and every hour from 7pm to bedtime. The DR said by 8 weeks her sleep/eat pattern should establish on its own & we seem to be getting there.

We are quickly retiring her newborn clothes, but the 3 month outfits have plenty of room---for now! Evan wakes up each morning asking where baby sister is, and peeks in her bassinet. He doesn't mind her presence--except last night at bedtime when she joined us for a book--I was nursing while reading his story--Alex was cleaning up after our party. Evan wanted Emery to go to her bed.

She's has been a good baby and very cuddly. I love my days alone with her while Evan is at Apple Lane. They are limited and I feel the pressure to get things done while I'm off-i.e. baking, shopping, sewing & scrapbooking...

Here are some photos since Thanksgiving. Evan, Alex & his parents went to Disney Playhouse on Tour show, Evan had two firsts---bowling & roller skating--bothj parties for his older girlfriends who turned 4! He did great with both--even got a strike bowling!!

Nana, Pops & Evan playing their BUGLES!

The bib says it all.
