Catching Up!

Warning...I started this post a few weeks ago and never seem to get to finish!!

Goodness...can't believe I haven't blogged in ??? weeks!!!  I'm so sorry, but that is just proof that we had a great summer full of memories!  We co-hosted our 2nd annual Crawfish Boil at the Demro's at the end of July.  It was a ton of fun and this year very very hot!  Just trying to share our southern heritage with our friends here in Minnesota!  I made Ev!an a crawfish shirt on my machine and it was a hit!  I been getting some business and hopefully it will continue to grow!

Sewing has become my favorite hobby and it's so rewarding~so if you're looking for a special gift or something for the holidays..I'm happy to help!! (another reason my blog is behind!)  Taking suggestions for a business name too!

So, August arrived and it was a beautiful and hot month!  We camped out in the backyard of some friends (the boys did--girls left before it got too late!)  The Mower County Fair was a ton of fun with Evan.  It is always the 2nd week of August (Tues-Sun) and we went 4 out of the 6 days!  Evan loved the animals and we found ourselves watching our little boy getting in the front seat of a roller coaster.  He loved it and just couldn't get enough of it!

A friend of ours participated in Demolition Derby which is like bumper cars in a mud pit. I was skeptical but actually enjoyed it...ironically..but be the redneck in me (if there is any?!) Evan loved the cars crashing and watching the fireman running out to the field. We watched a Cowboy Shootout another night and Cannonball Smith shooting out from his homemade cannon. Only at the fair.

My mom came for my birthday this year and we had a ton of fun with the kids and shopping!  Grandma sure knows how to spoil and nothing is better than hearing Evan sad about family leaving.  It means a lot that he understands what missing someone is all about.  She babysat the kids on my birthday so Alex and I could go out for dinner with friends in Rochester. Thanks Mom!

Evan is growing into a little boy. This has been the most challenging stage with him. Evan at 3 1/2 has so many personalities. He's sweet, protective, cuddly, sassy, funny, mischievous. But he's definitely all boy and has learned a lot of lingo from his friends at daycare. All those words like idiot, stupid, poopy, butt, and booger. But then he can be as sweet and funny as they come--gentle and protective of Emery. He's 100% potty trained and has been for nearly a year. Since July he's been wearing underwear to bed instead of a pull up and only had a couple accidents. Evan started the Montessori program at his daycare and moved up to the Preschool Class as well. I didn't expect it to be much of a change for him since he's been attending it for a couple years! But I was wrong, it's been a huge adjustment for him. He's back to being the younger one in his class

Emery is our little drama queen.  She's loud.  She doesn't let you forget that she's hungry, tired, bored or ready to get up.  Probably has to do with birth order, but she's still soooo cuddly and sweet.  She's loves to party too.  And she likes to throw the parties in her crib at 3:00 AM!  It's been a rough couple of months.  She's been on a nebulizer up to 6x times a day 3 months ago and then dropped treatments to once a day until recently.    At 9 months (July) she remains in the 50th percentile for height and 75th for weight.  Crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything.  She shows little interest in her toys, she wants to play with matchbox cars, soldiers and blocks. And Evan is learning how to share!!  She has two bottom teeth and when she pouts she looks like a bulldog b/c the teeth are not next to each other!  She's says Mama, Dadda, Babba.  She can high five, clap, blow kisses, so big and most recently puts her hand or toy to her ear when you say hello...just like her own cell phone!

We attended Matthew's first birthday in September at the park (also Georgia's first game of the season hence the red and black!)  I made Matthew his birthday shirt which turned out great!  He also received a dinosaur and Wartburg shirt that I posted on my facebook photo album.

We're ready for all that is fall...cooler weather (NOT COLDER), football, leaves changing, and visiting the pumpkin patch!!
